Public model rocketry launch day in Austria, organized by Arbeitsgruppe fuer Astronomie (AfA) and Interessengemeinschaft Modellraketen (IMR).

Location: 5101 Bergheim near Salzburg, Austria (located north of Salzburg)
Date/Time: Autumn 2004 (postponed from June due to bad weather). Launches from 10:00 - 16:30.
Starts: Flights with model rockets and a maximum altitude of 500 meters. Starts with all model rocketry and highpower rockets as long as they meet the IMR safety codes for model- and HPR rockets (same as NAR/TRA).
Engines: Pls. take your own engines. The organisator will not provide engines!
Launch area: Approx. 500 x 500 meters at the top of a small mountain!

Insurance: We will apply for an organizer insurance. This does not cover damages with models! According to the laws, all starters are reliable for damages with own models so please check if your insurance covers launches in Austria (pls. do not forget to make copies!). If you have no insurance, we can supply a temporary insurance for a small fee of 8,70 € (details on our German insurance page).
Anfahrt: Bergheim is located north of Salzburg and may be reached by car (Autobahn exit "Salzburg Nord") or train (train station "Berggheim b. Salzburg"). The launch area is located north of Bergheim next to the planetarium (Volkssternwarte Salzburg) on the hill "Voggenberg". Pls. follow the signs from Bergheim to Voggenberg (rocket on a yellow background or "Volkssternwarte Salzburg").

Accomodation/dinner: Pls. book your accomodation directly at Tourismusverband Bergheim (tourist information). We will organize a dinner on Saturday night, if interested, pls. check the field on the online entry form.
Registration: Pls. register as soon as possible. All starters and visitors are asked to register using our online registration form. Only pre-registered visitors & starters may attend the event!
Safety regulations: At the AustroLaunch, model rockets are flown according to the IMR model rocketry safety code, highpower rockets according to the IMR HPR safety code. For HPR-flights, a highpower certification level is required - see IMR launch day regulations. For all launches, pls. follow the Austrian laws and regulations (see European Model Rocketry).
Entry fees: Each starter € 7, IMR-members € 5, insurance (if requested) € 8,70 incl. tax. Visitors (no starts) are free! Fees will be charged at the launch site in cash in Euros.
